Announcement Again

Due to thinking, I have decided to not post the stories of the day on this website anymore. It will still remain completely functional, it just won't have a post everyday. I think this is for the better seeing as recently I have just been rushing through these posts anyway.

The majority of my focus will be on my YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/user/newsjmc

Check me out there!

Mars rover Curiosity makes its first drill and

Curiosity's first drill
So Curiosity has made its first drill on the red planet. The location selected for this monumental drill was Yellowknife Bay, a location that is believed to hold evidence of life. The sample collected will be processed by the machine's instruments to see what it is composed of.

The hope is that we will find the building blocks of life. The soil will be tested with two steps, the first of which being Sample Analysis of Mars (SAM). The soil sample will be heated to nearly 2,000 degrees Farenheit, causing the powdered rock's compounds and elements to vaporize into a gaseous state.

Once the sample is turned into gas, the gases will be analyzed by a different tool, which will determine what exactly the gases are.

This to me is a huge deal! I love chemistry and this is a huge real life application of it. We are testing the components of what makes up another planet with chemistry. It will be very interesting to see what elements and compounds make up this red giant, and if there is in fact life on Mars.

If there is, there would officially be alien life. We would not be alone in this universe. There are legitimately aliens if this test comes back with life.

Granted it probably won't be intelligent life, like the green things you see in movies, but still. This would be a huge discovery for all of mankind.

I'm excited to see the results.

Russia testing Japan
Japan is claiming that Russian fighter jets intruded on its airspace, raising tensions between the two countries, at the same time that China intruded on Japan naval space.

"Certainly they are testing us and using the opportunity created by the Chinese diversion," said Narushige Michishita, a Northeast Asia security expert at Japan's National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies.

What Chinese diversion? Well reportedly China locked on to one of Japan's naval warships in the vicinity of one of the disputed Japanese Islands.
To me this seems like Russia is just testing Japan. They're seeing what they will and won't do to ensure security of their borders. It's like when your parents told you to stop poking your sibling.

So you made a line down the middle of the back row of car seats. And you're brother slid his hand across that line just to annoy you. He slid it over and pulled it back, giggling like an immature prick afterwards.

Or when your sibling hovers his hand in front of your face and exclaims, "I'm not touching you! I'm not touching you!"

That's Russia. The immature little sibling just testing Japan.

Well what's gonna happen? Eventually Japan is gonna get fed up and punch Russia in the face. The only question that remains is whose side will mom and dad take?

Will the US father tell brother Russia that they asked for it? Or will they tell Japan not to hit their sibling?

Who knows.

Hopefully it doesn't escalate to this point, and the tension can be relieved peacefully.

Classic Joke Monday

Why did the belt get arrested? It held up pants.
